Job progress invoice vs Estimate

I'm having a major issue and can not figure out what's going on............. When I run the Job Progress Invoice vs Estimate, the progress invoice is only showing the amount of the first invoice. There are additional invoices but the report is not pulling that information. I have provided a screenshot for a visual representation. This is driving me CRAZY!! The second issue I'm trying to pull a report that shows all payments applied to the job. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated in advance. I'm thinking of reaching out to a QuickBooks Pro that specializes in job costing where is a good place in the community to find such a resource.

Re: Job progress invoice vs Estimate

Hey @Precision Accountaholics,

You can customize your reports to show the information you need. Let me provide you the detailed steps.

In the Job Progress Invoices vs. Estimates report, it’ll show your estimates. But you can filter it to show the invoices together with the estimates. You can follow the steps below to achieve this:

  1. Click on Reports from the menu bar.
  2. Choose Jobs, Time & Mileage.
  3. Select Job Progress Invoice vs. Estimates.
  4. Click on Customize Report.
  5. Select the Filters tab.
  6. In the Choose Filter box, click on Transaction Type.
  7. Select Multiple Transaction Types from the drop-down.
  8. In the Select Transaction Types window, select Invoice and Estimate.
  9. Click on OK.

Then, you can pull up and customize your Sales by Customer Detail report to show the payments applied to your jobs. Here’s how:

  1. Click on Reports from the menu bar.
  2. Choose Sales,  then click on Sales by Detail.
  3. Click on Customize Report.
  4. Select the Filters tab.
  5. In the Choose Filter box, select Name.
  6. Choose the job name from the drop-down.
  7. Select Transaction Type from the Choose Filter box.
  8. Choose Payments from the drop-down.
  9. Click on OK.

You can then click on Memorize on each report to save them in your Memorized Reports list.

I’ve attached an article here to help you customize your reports further.
