Hello there, 80hdllc,

If the web page was idle, the system will ask for your login credentials again. The system might have logged you out already before you were able to click the Save as draft button.

If the invoice created is not saved successfully, you'll want to recreate them again.

If you have a similar invoice created before, you can duplicate it and create the minimal changes to recreate the invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Click Invoices on the left pane.
  2. Locate the invoice you want to duplicate.
  3. Click the drop-down icon under ACTION, then click Duplicate.
  4. Change any necessary information like the recipient’s name and email address. Or if you need to add works.

I'll also send feedback about this. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Considering it was a new job, unique 36 line item invoice, the first of it's kind, there are no previous invoices like it your recommendation is absurd, and proves the shortsightedness of your system. The fact that I can't import anything, and that I was clicking 'save' and nothing was indicating that I was timed out or such is seriously disturbing. This is a major failure of a system that is supposedly beyond beta or alpha stages. I have wasted precious time on this system and will now be taking my invoicing business elsewhere and will be sure to tell everyone what a poor option your service is, considering there are many other options available that are fully fleshed out.

Hi 80hdllc,

I know how you want all the information to be saved once you create an invoice. Let me share with you a few information about this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently-accessed page resources causing unexpected behaviors when accessing websites.

You can log into your account using a private browser. Here are the shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If this works, you can clear your browser's cache so the system will start fresh.

If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different browser.

You can also use the QuickBooks Self-Employed app if you want to send invoice.

I have this article in case you have other questions about QBSE: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview
