My customer in Australia is trying to pay their invoice through quick books. The system is not allowing it due to a zip code error.

Will just the ACH work if I uncheck the credit card? Will the system accepts their bank information since it is in Australia?

Hello there, @Jennifer529.

Currently, there isn't an option to accept invoice payments through international banks in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Whether it's via credit card or ACH transaction, the system won't accept foreign bank information and will display a zip code error. However, you may let your customer use PayPal or other supported third-party apps to pay their invoice.

To select the right app for receiving international payments, I'd recommend visiting this page: The QuickBooks Apps. It contains the complete list of supported QBO apps for receiving payments.

Also, to keep you updated on the latest news, product features, and system upgrades, you can check out our blog: The QuickBooks Blog.

In the meantime, I'm also adding this article to further guide you in processing an ACH bank transfer for your customer’s invoice in QBO: Process an ACH bank transfer from a customer.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. I'm just around to help if you have other concerns about receiving and processing invoice payments in QBO. Take care always.

@Jennifer529

You may utilize one of these apps to accept payments from your customers in Australia.

But once you need to accept credit card payments or direct debits, you should explore these apps

Unfortunately, no, ACH will not work if your customer is in Australia. QuickBooks Online does not currently support accepting invoice payments through international banks, whether it's via credit card or ACH transaction. The system will not accept foreign bank information and will display a zip code error.

If you want to accept payments from your Australian customer, you will need to use a third-party payment app that supports international payments. Some popular options include PayPal, Stripe, and Square.

Here are some of the third-party payment apps that support international payments:

  • PayPal: PayPal is one of the most popular payment apps in the world. It supports payments in over 200 countries and currencies.
  • Stripe: Stripe is another popular payment app that supports payments in over 100 countries.
  • Square: Square is a mobile payment app that allows businesses to accept payments in person or online. It supports payments in over 30 countries.

Once you have chosen a third-party payment app, you will need to add your customer's payment information to the app. Once the payment information is added, your customer will be able to pay their invoice using the app.
