I've been running my P&L report and for some reason, it is suddenly adding an account to each Parent account when exporting to Excel. Have run this report in the past and have not incurred this anomaly.
When I run the report, I customize-advanced and choose: Display Rows: All
Columns: All
Reporting Calendar: Accrual
Why is this occurring and how to stop it? We don't need the "Other"

The other line item always shows up since you have selected to display all categories upon customizing your Profit and Loss report. You can read through this article to learn more: Customize company and financial reports.

Other appears when you use a parent account that has sub-accounts that are also in use. It's a little odd, but normal.
Other has nothing to do with choosing to see all accounts (QuickBooks does not have categories). It has only to do with using a a parent account directly.
QuickBooks has been like this since the last century.
It seems Intuit support would be well versed in such things.
Thank you for your response. Yes, I've chosen to include ALL accounts, and this is where the problem lies ( from QB side). I don't need QB to add another account-just the accounts I have created! There is no way to remove the "Other" category at this time.

This is why I go to the QB Community...QB Support is not always well-versed. Whereas the Community members have been very , very helpful.
As far as the "other" line to the Parent account, I only wish QB would get rid of it when I choose to "Display All Rows" or at least give me option.
It just makes report "messy"
