Join nowIs there a report that shows entries on the check register and matches them with the P&L account. I have some missing from my P&L.
Hello there, Joy4.
There are a few ways to trace missing transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. You can run a Quick Report on your Chart of Accounts and filter it to see all the income and expense transactions.
Here's how:
Another option is to use the Audit Trail. This tracks all the additions, deletions, and modifications made to transactions in your data file.
Here's how:
I'd appreciate if you can update me on how it goes. I'll be here if there's anything else you need.
Thank you. I will look at this. I'm a pretty frustrated right now. I contacted and purchased a support agreement with quickbooks. They said my database was pretty corrupt and we spent almost two hours on the phone getting it "fixed" they also updated me to Pro Plus 2020. It didn't appear to do anything. My reports haven't changed they still don't balance and search still doesn't work (I was told to hit control f to find what I was looking for).
He said the database was repaired. Since this was pretty corrupted, I asked how I could monitor this in the future to keep from it happening again. He told me to go to utilities and verify. This never found ANY problems in the past. Not the best time to happen. We are going through an audit.
Right now I need to be able to compare each entry in the check register and see what P&L account the amount went to.
You're certainly welcome, @Joy4.
I understand you've been through a lot in resolving your missing transactions in QuickBooks. Our support can fix the corruption of the company file, however, it's a different matter when it comes to your allocated transactions.
Since there are incorrect allocated transactions, it'd be best to consult or look for an accountant to solve this. I'm sure they can assist you with the reports and help allocate this by batch.
If there's anything else you need, do visit the Community again. I'll be around to help however I can. Have a good one.
Not all of your banking transactions will show up on your P&L statement. Any checks written to pay a loan, liability such a credit card payment or payroll related transaction do not show up on the P&L. These are balance sheet accounts. Additionally, bill payments will not show up on the P&L. The bill will show up when the bill is entered, but the payment of the bill is a reduction of accounts payable which is a balance sheet account.
