Paid double in Dec 21' first directly then through my accountant. How do I find the "bill number" for the payment I made? Not in my email as said on refund form

Searched my email in every way I could, it doesn't look like they sent me an email with my "bill number" for the payment I made. Trying to fill out refund form which says it's in my email. Any ideas? Checked my account also cannot find.

Let me share some ways on how to find the bill number for the payment you made, @derrickseitz-gma

We can proceed to the Expenses tab and view the payment details. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Choose Transactions, then select Expenses.
  3. Click Bill Payment under the Type column.
  4. You will see the details of the payment.

Otherwise, we can run the Bill and Applied Payments report to see the lists of all bills and their reference number.

Let me show you how:

  1. Select the Reports menu at the left panel.
  2. In the Find report by name field, look for Bill and Applied Payments report.

  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Choose the report date
  5. Under the Rows/Columns section, put a checkmark next to Num.
  6. Once done, click Run report.

You'll want to know the lists of successful and unsuccessful payments. Please consider checking out this article: Payment details and history in Online Bill Pay

Fill me in if you have other questions about managing your vendor bills in QuickBooks. I'll be around to help you. Keep safe and have a good one.

I did exactly as you mentioned @Rubielyn_J however neither came up with any results.

To further clarify, I am seeking the bill number for the payment I made to intuit.  The refund form says I can find this in my email but no such thing was emailed to me.  I can find the transaction in quickbooks, but there is no bill number that I can find.  I think this is something I need to get from intuit not from my books records.

Thanks for getting back to us with additional details, derrickseitz-gma.

Do you still remember the exact bill that you paid last December 21? If so, you can open the transaction for you to get the bill number.

Here's how to look for it:

  1. Go to the Expenses menu and select Expenses.
  2. Click the drop-down list for Filters and select Bills for Type.
  3. You can also add more filter such as date and status of the transaction.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. L:ook for the transaction and click on it to open the transaction.

The Bill No. field is located in the center-most part of the transaction.

If you can't locate it, I would recommend reaching out to our phone and chat support teams. They can take a look at your account and provide the information that you need. Here's how:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right hand corner of your QBO account.
  2. Type in "Talk to a human" in the chatbox, then press Enter.
  3. Select Get help from a human.
  4. Click Chat with us or Have us call you.
