Payroll Detail

In QB 2018, Is there a way to print a payroll detail for the pay period. Current if you run a report for the date range of the pay period it only shows a check date in that date range (prior pay period).  It does not show the current period hours.

There's no way to filter transaction based reports on the pay period, though you can display it on detail reports.

Always run payroll reports based on the pay date, the date of the payroll/paycheck.

I’ll be your guide today, so you’re able to see and print the current pay period hours when running the Payroll Detail Report.

To customize the report:

  1. Go to Reports at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Payroll Detail Review, then click on the Customize Report button.
  3. Choose the Display tab.
  4. Under Columns, enter Qty. in the field box.
  5. Then go to the Filters tab.
  6. Under Choose Filter, enter Payroll items in the field box.
  7. Choose Multiple payroll items and select the appropriate hours/wages.
  8. Click on OK.

To check for the hours worked, you can go to the  Qty. column.

Keep me posted if you have additional questions about customizing the report. I'll get back to assist you further. Wishing you the best with your business endeavors.

Payroll Detail

Payroll Reporting only has data based on Paychecks Existing and for that Pay Date.

Here, you using the wrong date: "Current if you run a report for the date range of the pay period it only shows a check date in that date range (prior pay period).  It does not show the current period hours."

You run the reports for Pay Date that you know covers the Pay Period you want to see info on.
