QBO recurring bill not showing on Account Payable aging report

Why don't recurring bills (e.g. vehicle payments) show on the accounts payable aging reports? I need this information to accurately forecast my cash needs. Thanks

Re: QBO recurring bill not showing on Account Payable aging report

Hi there, @briannasandsfilter.

Thank you for posting in the Community. Let me help share some information about recurring bills in QuickBooks.

Recurring bills will only show up on the Accounts Payable Aging report once they've reached their scheduled creation date. If you need a list of your recurring bills, you can pull up the Recurring Template List instead.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Recurring Template List on the search bar.

You can also check out this helpful article for more information about recurring templates: Create templates for recurring transactions.

If you need help in the future, we've recently updated our support experience. You can reach out to our helpful support by signing in to your account. Then select the Help icon on the top right and click Contact Us.

That should do it. Let me know if you have other questions about recurring bills. I'm always here to help.

Re: QBO recurring bill not showing on Account Payable aging report

So how do you suggest viewing ALL accounts payable in ONE report?  This answer suggests that we would have to run a AP report and assess is alongside a Recurring Template report as opposed to analyzing ALL payables in one centralized format.

Greetings, @SC33.

Thank you for joining this thread. I can help you run and customize a report in QuickBooks Online to have all the accounts payable transactions.

  1. Click Reports.
  2. On the search field, enter Transaction Details by Accounts.
  3. Edit the date range.
  4. Click Customize.
  5. Go to the Filters section.
  6. For accounts, only select Accounts Payable (A/P).
  7. Click Run report to refresh the information.

That should give you the report you need, SC33. Keep me posted if you have more questions about customizing reports in QBO. Just add a comment or mention my name. Have a good one!

Re: QBO recurring bill not showing on Account Payable aging report

Thanks!  Unfortunately this still does not seem to answer the question.  While we are able to create bills in the "Bill" section of QB and separately create recurring expenses (e.g. upcoming bills/AP), running this report does not seem to show ALL upcoming payments due in one centralized location/report.  Specifically, we are able to easily run reports of upcoming bills that have been input, but seemingly not expenses which have been input/marked as recurring...

The question is about Accounts Payable.  Accounts Payable are only legal debts for goods or services delivered. If you have not yet delivered goods or services, there is no Account Payable.

You are asking about a cash flow forecast, which QBO does not do. There are apps that do that.

Re: QBO recurring bill not showing on Account Payable aging report

Change the recurring date to a date prior to the due date. I put mine in 10 days before and then change the terms of the bill to Net 10. This way it will show up in your Aging AP Detail. Otherwise the bill will not show up until the recurring date, even if you say "create ___ days in advance". For example, I have a recurring bill every month on the 15th, so I put it in to recur on the 5th so that I don't forget to pay it. When I had it in to recur on the 15th, create 10 days in advance, it still did not show up on my Aging AP Detail until the 15th, because that was the recur date. Hope that helps
