QBO Sync with Square

I have been Sync with Square with QBO for a few months.  It appears to be working mostly as advertised, but I'm not sure how to handle the Square Cash sales.  The transactions import but I cannot determine where they go.  And I don't know how to best record these as bank deposits.   Should I import each cash sale into the Cash Drawer, and then make transfers to my bank account to match each deposit, or should I just makes a bank deposit with the amount I actually deposit.    Thanks for any advice.

QBO Sync with Square

I’m happy to share information and help manage your Square cash sales, @BarMe.

After QuickBooks download your Sales transactions from Square, it shows up in Banking on the App Transactions tab. You can review and edit the information before you add them to your books.

Once done, you can make a bank deposit in QuickBooks to link the cash sales and match them to your actual deposit. I’m glad to show you the steps.

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Select Bank deposit under Other.
  3. Enter the necessary information and make sure the amounts are equal.
  4. Press Save and close.

You can read this guide to learn more about uploading Square sales data into the program: Sync Square with QuickBooks Online. It has a video tutorial so you’ll know how to handle them properly.

Also, I've attached a reference that allows you to view, create, and edit sales transactions: View sales transactions. It provides you details about individual transactions to ensure everything is accurate.

Don’t hesitate to drop a comment if you have other concerns or questions about handling cash sales. I’m always here to help. Take care and have a good one!
