Hello all,
My July P&L report is missing July sales data. The sales data was entered with a journal entry. I've checked the journal entry several times and all entries are in tact.
When I ran the P&L report for July, Quickbooks online screen flickered serval times. This seems to be a data problem.
Does Quickbooks online have a Verify and Rebuild utility?
Thanks so much!
Your online company is updated with every save of a transaction. The problem may be from how you entered sales and the default settings for the P&L report. If you can see the JE then it IS saved on the Amazon hosting service, in supposedly multiple locations although I suspect they may be moving hosting to altrrnate sites due to wildfire threat
Journal entries are a poor substitute for Sales Receipts and bylass tge difference between cash and accrual.
Option 1. Reenter sales in a Sales Receipt and lose the JE.
Option 2, change your report view from accrual to cash or the reverse depending on which you are cuffeny viewing
Option 3
Customize the filters for tge report to include jpurnal entries
You may need a combination of the above.
Hello and thanks for the quick feedback! I'm only have trouble with one month. This problem occurred on 9/17 in the evening. QBO flicked multiple times while generating the report. This was not due to a problem on my side. P&L reports for Jan-Jun & Aug generate fine. I can see the JE. It looks good.
I don't how to determine where the data is a saved (which Amazon server).
I use Shopify and all of my sales data is neatly store there. Thus the JE work best for me. Maybe this is technical glitch and I can re-enter July's data later...
I suppose Quickbooks online does not have a rebuild tool.
Update: I entered the wrong date for the journal entry. So the data for my July P&L was missing because I entered 9/17 for the journal entry. LOL :) Once I changed the date, my July P&L data is back.
Thank you!
