Buy nowHi:
The expenses section of my P&L is setup such that there are multiple accounts with sub-grouping.
This has always worked fine for me in Quickbooks in Desktop and Online versions.
I note that the account types are always carefully made the same.
My chart of accounts ordering of master and sub-accounts is perfect. However, when I generate a P&L statement many of the accounts that should fall under a master grouping all just show up in "Expenses"
Everything is grouping just fine within "Recurring Expenses" and its sub accounts. However, everything within "Non-Recurring Expenses" is just falling under "Expenses" as individual accounts. I posted below the illustrative chart of accounts grouping and the P&L output.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!
The chart of accounts hierarchy is like this:
Expenses
Non-Recurring Expenses
Discretionary Non-Recurring

Non-Discretionary Non-Recurring
Account

Recurring Expenses
Discretionary Recurring

However, the P&L is generating this:

Good afternoon RedRaiderInvestor,
Nice to see you in the Community! What I recommend is selecting the Customize button on the report and checking to see if adding or removing the filters will fix the hierarchy. Because I'm unable to see how your accounts were set up, it can be challenging to determine how the report would look. However, I am attaching this article which includes a video presentation on how to customize reports in QBO, if needed:
Please let me know if this ratified the problem! Don't hesitate to reply to this thread if you have any other questions. Bye for now!
Hi:
Thanks for the reply. After closing all browser tabs and restarting QB Online in a separate login instance the issue resolved on its own.
Thanks,
RRI
