QuickBooks Pro 2016 will not open files in multi-user

When I try to export a customized (memorized) report, there isn't a "Export Template" option.  Exporting to Excel is an option but there isn't an option in the QBW format as described on other online help forums.  How can export customized/memorized report templates in QB Pro 2016?

QB Pro does not have the ability to Export report templates; it is only allowed to Import them. Pro is the Entry Level tool. As a Pro Advisor, you should have and be using your Accountant Edition.

And this: "When I try to export a customized (memorized) report, there isn't a "Export Template" option."

Means you need to Neuter the report. For instance, if you filtered on a specific Liability account, change that to All Liability Accounts. Export It. Import it to the other file(s) and put back that specific Customization.

Sorry, I forgot: the Export is a filetype of .QBR = report template.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @cstrader.

I’m here to share some information about exporting report templates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

QBW is your actual working company file and currently it's not possible to export this file type to a report.

With QBDT, you can export Memorized reports as Excel or save it as PDF file. Here's how:

Export to Excel:
1.    Open the memorize report.
2.    Click the Excel drop-down and select Create New Worksheet or Update Existing Worksheet.
3.    Choose what you’d like to do with the report in the Send Report to Excel window.
4.    Select the Advanced button to see other available options, then OK.
5.    Hit the Export button and QuickBooks will open MS Excel. You may edit your data as needed.

For more details, check out this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/Import-or-export-MS-Excel-files/m-p/203724.

To save as PDF file:
1.    Open the memorize report.
2.    Click the Print drop-down and select Save As PDF.
3.    Follow the prompt to save it on your desktop.

That should get you pointed in the right direction. If you have additional questions working on the program, feel free to reach out to me. I’ll be here to help. Wishing you the best!
