Join nowHi @jdixon,
Thanks for the question! I'd like to get some clarifying information from you. When you say the gift certificate is not deducting from the right account, do you mean when you do the financial exchange with QuickBooks Financial it's pulling from the wrong account? Which account is it pulling from?
Thanks,
Lucas
Thank you for responding.
After the financial exchange, payment using a gift certificate is posted to the checking account instead of Gift Certificates Outstanding. When one is purchased, it also is not posted to Gift Certificates Outstanding but to Merchandise Sales.

if I bypass the GIFT button altogether on the make a sale window and just use the Gift Certificate item when I purchase a gift certificate (with a positive amount) and redeem (with a negative amount), it is assigned to Gift Certificates Outstanding correctly. But it is harder to track in reports that way.
Thanks again!
Hi @jdixon,
Thanks for the information. It sounds like there might be some settings in the financial exchange that will need to be checked to ensure they are hitting the right accounts. For this situation, I would recommend reaching out to Point of Sale support so they can look at this with you and determine why they are going to the wrong places. If you check the link below, you will find contact options for the Point of Sale support team:
