Re: Converting back to desktop received n email stating Click the task or to do item called "Down...

Hi markcherlin,

When converting to QuickBooks Desktop, you have to choose a file location on your computer where to save the downloaded company file.

After the file has finishes downloading, you can now click on the Convert Now button.

It's possible that the downloaded company file wasn't saved in the recommended location. Let's repeat the process to completely export the company file:

  1. Click on the Gear icon and select Export Data.
  2. Under “Moving to QuickBooks Desktop?”, select Learn more.
  3. Under Download company data, select Learn more.
  4. Review the export overview, then select Get Started.
  5. In the Exporting from QuickBooks Online page, select Continue to Download.
  6. Verify the version of QuickBooks Desktop is open and sitting at the No Company Open screen. (Important: If a company file is currently open, you need to close that file before proceeding.)
  7. Select Download.
  8. In the Save your company file pop-up window, select a location to save the export company file. (Note: It is not recommended to change the file name and to save the file to your Windows Desktop.)
  9. After the file has finishes downloading, select Convert Now
  10. After the export completes, select Finished.

Once done, please make sure to review your financial reports if they matched with what's in QuickBooks Online. If they don't, please reach out to our support. They can look your account to see what's causing the discrepancy.

From your QuickBooks Online account, click on the Help menu and click on Contact us. Enter reports don't match after conversion in the topic field and click on Let's talk. Choose a way to reach us.

We're here to keep you posted if you've got more questions about the conversion or anything else.
