FORMATTING CHECKS FOR VOUCHER STYLE IN QB FOR MAC 2019

In Quickbooks for Mac 2016, I had my checks set up to print for voucher-style checks (3-part checks).  Just installed QB for Mac 2019, and when I went to print my check, it was a standard style (attached).  I've hunted all over for a way to choose a format for the checks, but I cannot find a format choice.  Where do I set up check style?

FORMATTING CHECKS FOR VOUCHER STYLE IN QB FOR MAC 2019

Congratulations on your new QuickBooks for Mac 2019, ejinayoshi.

I'm here to guide you in changing the check style to a voucher in QuickBooks for Mac 2019.

Please follow the steps I've laid out below:

  1. Choose QuickBooks, then select Preferences.
  2. On the Preferences pane, select Checks.
  3. Set the preferences described below.
  4. Print account names on vouchers.
  • Payee
  • Date
  • Account name (first 16 lines).
  • Memo (first 16 lines)
  • Amount (first 16 lines)
  • Total amount

            5. Close the Preferences pane.

Once done, please try printing a check.

You can check out the QuickBooks for Mac 2019 User's Guide for the detailed steps. Just press Command and F, then enter "Voucher" to locate the Check Preferences section.

That should do it. If there's anything else I can do for you, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below. I'll get back here as soon as I can to help you again.

Thanks -- I had already it set up that way; I finally found that when I selected print, if I also selected "Details", I would get to the page I needed.

I tried the instructions in the string -- still not formatting voucher checks properly -- any other ideas - I have selected voucher and wasted two checks so far

I finally smartened up myself and used plain paper until I saw it lined up by holding a check behind the plain check copy.  Then I ised a real check.

How/where do I put the Bank Logo, account number, routing number, etc. ? Layout designer doesn't provide for that and I can see no way to do it without buying pre-printed checks. That would be a gamble if I can't adjust what prints where.

Thanks for joining us in this thread, cftutt.

QuickBooks requires pre-printed check stocks. It's why there's no option to enter the banking information in the Layout designer. Although, you can look for add-on software that can let you use blank paper checks.

I'll forward your feedback about the available printing options in QuickBooks to our product engineers. We based some our product updates from customer's comments and suggestions.

I had the same problem after installing QB for Mac 2019, the voucher style checks were not printing anything on the check stubs.  Today, I entered a check To Print, then selected File: Print Check.  The window that opened had a choice of three styles of checks on the bottom left of that window, the second radio button was Voucher Style.  The preferences: checks window lets you select what you want printed on the voucher stubs, but to get it to print Voucher style, you have set it up through the File: Print Check window.

Hi Golf Pro,

If your installer came from a CD, please update QuickBooks to get the latest release, then try printing a check after.

  1. Select the QuickBooks 2019 Server next to the Apple logo.
  2. Go to Check for QuickBooks Server updates.
  3. Click Install Update.
  4. Select Install and Relaunch.

If the same thing will happen after the update or if the installer didn't come from a CD, please contact our phone agents to check this further. They have a tool to do a screen-sharing session to find the root cause of this behavior.

  1. Open this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Choose QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Select any main topics and sub topics.
  4. Scroll down, and click the Get Phone Number button.

We're just around if you have other questions.
