How do I get my full description to show up on a check on QuickBooks online? I tried adjusting the margins but it still cuts off.

The margins within QuickBooks were adjusted but didn't appear right in the preview.

I appreciate you for posting here in the Community, userthconcreteinc.  I'm pleased to provide assistance with adjusting your check alignment in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You mentioned that you have already tried adjusting the margins on your checks and it still doesn't appear right. In that case, I suggest using Adobe Acrobat for printing checks. Adobe Reader is required to print both Standard and Voucher checks.

To set up Adobe Acrobat Reader as your default PDF viewer, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the +New button and select Print checks.

  2. Choose Print setup, then No, continue setup.

  3. Select the latest version of the Reader link. This takes you to Adobe’s page where you can download the latest version of Acrobat Reader.
  4. After installing Acrobat, go back to QuickBooks. Then click the How? link to set Adobe Reader as your browser’s default PDF viewer.
  5. Return to QuickBooks and select View preview and print sample, then click the Print button.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to finish printing your sample check.
  7. Check the alignment of your sample against a blank check.

If the sample check appears correctly aligned, you can print it on your regular checks. However, if there is still an alignment issue, you can fine-tune it using the instructions in steps 3 and 4 in this article: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

That would help you show the description on your checks, userthconcreteinc. Let me know if you need further help with QuickBooks tasks by hitting the Reply button below. I'll be here to lend a hand.
