QuickBooks Online downloads the last 90 days worth of transactions after connecting your credit card account, -elysiangoddess-.

Transactions that are older than that can be imported in a a CSV, QBO, or Quicken file format. Then, import them QBO so you can bring them in and assign categories. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card’s website.
  2. Follow your bank’s instructions for how to download transactions to your computer. Some banks call this WebConnect. Every financial institution has different steps. Here are steps for Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo.
  3. Make sure the date range for the download is at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop.

Once done, follow these steps on how to import them in:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu. Then, proceed to the Banking tab.
  2. Click the drop-down list beside Update ▼ and select File upload.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions on how to map and successfully import the file.

Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it’s time to match and categorize the transactions.
