I accidentally made a mistake with my product/service that I am putting on an invoice. How can I edit it? I see nothing that lets me edit or delete this.

Let me help you edit your invoice to correct it on your account, userstonepressmassag.

We can change your invoice by clicking the Edit work info button and it's located in the invoice toolbar at the bottom part. Let me walk you through the steps on how:

1. Log into your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
2. On the left panel, click Invoices.
3. Search for the invoice.
4. Press the drop-down arrow under the Action column.
5. Select the Edit option.
6. At the bottom part of your invoice, choose the Edit work info.
7. Edit your invoice.
8. Hit Save.

Just in case you're unable to locate the option using the browser, let's try logging into your account using a private browser. Then, use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

• Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
• Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If it works, please switch back to your regular browser and clear its cache & historical data. The process helps restore the default setup of the browser. If private browsing doesn't work, use another supported web engine to get the best and most secure experience with the program. I followed the directions to "edit" a product/service on the invoice and the only Edit Work Info option I see is near the top of the invoice where my company info is located.  There is also an Edit Customer Info option next few lines down.  There is no "edit" feature where the product/service is listed.  This is driving me crazy.  I don't see how there is not an option to either edit or delete.  The only option I see for this section is to +Add.  I set up a few "test" categories that I would now like to edit or delete and not able too.  Am I not seeing something here?  Thanks for your help!!!!!!

Currently, we don't have an option to edit an item in QuickBooks Self-Employed. What we can do right now is to remove the incorrect item on the invoice and create a new one. Here's how to do it:

1. Open the invoice you want to edit.
2. Click the Delete option (trash can icon) on the item you want to change.
3. Click the Add product or service link or click + Add new.
4. Set up the item correctly and add it on the invoice.
5. Save the changes.

I was looking for the same thing but I guess its not possible. It seems like it would be easy to add this feature.... I need to be able to edit a product/service and its really counterintuitive that we cannot. It doesn't allow for us to have a quicker more efficient workflow in creating invoices for different clients with the same product/service. If I make one product for one client, then i have to change the name of the product for the next client even though the product should be named the same. We also cannot edit it or delete it if we make a mistake which makes absolutely no sense. At this point, using Google Sheets would be quicker than using Quickbooks because of this.

I found this thread in hopes of finding an answer to the same problem you encountered editing "Products and Services". It's May 2022, please tell me there's a solution to this!

For now, we can only edit the invoice and delete the product/service to correct it. I know it's been another year and understand that having the ability to edit it would make it easier to rename your products/services.

In the meantime, if you want to remove the item/service, simply replace it with the correct one by following my peer, @JamesDuanT's instructions. For reference about editing invoices, you can also check this article: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, you can explore QuickBooks Online which allows you to edit the products/services entered into the system. This is a different online version that doesn't calculate self-employed taxes but I've added it as your preference as to when your business grows bigger.

It's September 2022 and it looks like a feature to edit or delete a product/service in the dropdown list is still unavailable. This is very frustrating and to be honest, it's pushing me to want to find a different software to use. I have several items I need to edit or delete and now am stuck with a long list of unwanted services. 

It's January 2023 and this is still an issue!  How is this not an option?  Extremely frustrating....

I understand how the workflow you're looking for is beneficial to your business. However, as of this moment, we still don't have the option to modify your product/service in QBSE. 
 

Through our Feedback board, we can pass a request here about this feature. These requests and suggestions are forwarded to the Product Development Team, and I want to let you know that your voice matters and each update our developer team creates are considered that it benefits our customer's business.  

To do so:

1. Go to Assistant.
2. Select the I need help button.
3. Enter Send Feedback in the Text field.
4. Choose Add a feature.
5. Type in the option to include a breakdown of the category under certain expenses.
6. Click Send.
