I can't get the rules to apply to text 'contained' in a downloaded transaction and automatically assign a category and add it.

These are downloaded transactions from paypal and are refunds specifically where there is text contained saying "Subject: Refunded by store administartor" It won't assign categories and add automatically. What could I be doing wrong?

Let me help you in setting up these rules in QuickBooks, @clayton-pfingsto.

When creating rules in QuickBooks Online, we need to make sure that the conditions for the transactions that you wanted to be categorized are met. We can also simplify the description when setting up bank rules. This way, the system can easily recognize these transactions and categorize them.

In addition, there are accounts that you can't use when creating bank rules. These accounts are Uncategorised Income, Uncategorised Expense, Uncategorised Asset.
