I have updated my vehicle info but when I get to the section to send my information to Turbotax it the Vehicle expenses section still shows to update vehicle info?

The warning reads to either update my vehicle info or recategorize my vehicle expenses. Sense I have done both, I'm not sure why it won't enable the send to Turbotax option.

Spoke with a live rep and determined that the date for my Vehicle in service and purchase dates were incorrect.  That solved it! lol. Such a simple issue I kept overlooking. Amazing!

Let's check why the Vehicle expenses section keeps showing up,jhstringer.

Sometimes cache can cause issues when piled up on your browser. Though, it boosts the browser's background processes. You can follow these steps to get rid of any cache-related issues:

  1. Open a private browser and log in to your account. Private browsers use but don't store cache.
  2. If you can access save the information of your vehicle successfully, we can go back to your regular browser and clear cache and cookies.
  3. You can also use other supported browsers. Each of them uses a different cache

Once done, I know that you've already re-categorized your vehicle expenses. However, you need to check again if there are remaining travel expenses. This is to ensure that there no more transactions categorize under travel expenses.

To do so, you can pull up the Profit and Loss report, then review your car and truck expenses. Let me show you how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed account, then go to the Reports tab at the left pane.
  2. Select Profit and Loss from the result, then select the date range to last year and tap on View.
  3. Go to the Expenses section, then look for your car and truck expenses. Be sure that the amount is zero or no amount showing up from there.
  4. If there is, click on the amount beside it, then assign a different category to the transaction.

After the update, you should be able to skip from the tax vehicle information. Please read this article for more information: Categorize Transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If the Vehicle expenses option still appears, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Self-Employed Live Team. They can check the setup for you by pulling up your account.

Thanks so much for the information. I followed the steps you outlined, using incognito mode to log in and save my vehicle info, then cleared my cache and logged back in. I then made all my travel expenses personal to see if that would work. None of these steps worked as the same warning is appearing.
