I run 2 businesses on quickbooks made an estimate in the wrong business. Can I transfer the long estimate to the other one without redoing it all?

Welcome to the QuickBooks family, @Tblasier.

I can provide the necessary information you need about creating transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. Currently, exporting transactions such as estimates is still unavailable in the program.

You'll need to delete and re-enter the details into the correct company file. If you need to get a copy for reference, I suggest you save it as a pdf file.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Customers tab and select Customer Center.
  2. Go to the Transactions tab.
  3. Choose Estimates.
  4. Double-click the transaction.
  5. Press the Save drop-down at the top.
  6. Select Save As PDF

I appreciate your input, and I'll make sure to let our product engineers know about the workflow you need. We always update the features in QuickBooks, and this preference might be added in the future.

Meanwhile, I've attached an article you can visit for feature reference about using IIF files: Export, import, and edit IIF files.

Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other questions. Have a great day ahead.
