Hi there, @thetimelytasker-.

I'll help you with your credits concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before we proceed, can you help me verify where the customer credits is coming from?

If it's come from a credit memo, then you have the option to delete it. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and click Customers
  2. Select the name of the customer, then look for the credit memo.
  3. Click the transaction to open its window.
  4. On the bottom section, select More and choose Delete.
  5. Click Yes to confirm.

If the credit came from an overpayment, then you'll have to delete the actual payment first to remove its balance. Then, make sure to enter the same amount on the invoice when recording the payment. Please take note that doing this will affect your financial records. If you're not sure about the process, reach out to your accountant for further advice.

It's also possible that the Automatically apply credits feature was turned on in your account. This is the reason why QuickBooks is automatically applying credits to your open invoices. To turn this off, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and select Account and settings.
  2. In the Advanced window, look for the Automation section.
  3. Toggle the radio button for Automatically apply credits to turn this off.
  4. Click Save

Once turned off, you'll have the option of when to apply the credits for your customers.

Additionally, there are several financial reports you can run to track your sales income in QuickBooks. They will show you helpful insights on the things you buy and sell, and the status of your inventory.

The Community always has your back, so please let me know if you have any other questions or queries, @thetimelytasker-. I'll be more than happy to help you out. Keep safe.
