Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

Hello,

I need some assistance to prevent this from happening again!

I configured QBs to send out emailed invoices and statements today.

Sent out 1 test email and 5 invoices to the same client/email address - 6x emails...
All emails BCC to gmail address for records...

1 of the 5 invoice emails did not go through and was blocked for both the client & gmail address...

Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
[email address removed]
host smtp.ucebox.co.za [xx.xx.xxx.x]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 High probability of spam

Thanks,

How do you activate SMTP authentication for sending emails from QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2018?

Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

Hello there, AmithS.

Please follow the steps below on how to activate your SMTP ( Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then select Preferences.
  2. On the left panel, choose Send Forms.
  3. On the My Preferences tab, choose your email provider.
  4. Then, OK.

Please see set up email service to check the list of email provider compatible with your version.

Let me know if you have other questions about activating your SMTP. I'm always here to help!

Thank you for the reply.

I use the QBs method/option:

Email Provider - Others (I input my email account details directly into QBs)

Is there a way to activate/enable the following feature like how you would see in Microsoft Outlook that says "This server requires authentication" for sending emails?

Good day, AmithS.

Allow me to jump into this conversation and provide a few details about the authentication feature when setting up email in QuickBooks Desktop.

Did you enter the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) port number in QuickBooks? You can check the Intuit's supported list of Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the article above provided by my peer, AdrianRose_A.

If your email provider isn't supported, I suggest reaching out to them. They will be able to help configure the SMTP's server settings to allow QuickBooks to send emails.

This should point you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other concerns. I'm always around to help.
