How's your business doing, Ekim?

A company is equivalent to one QuickBooks Online subscription only. Though, we can use the same login credentials when setting up a new company. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log out from your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to this link and choose the plan you want to subscribe: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/ph/online-compare/.
  3. You can click the Buy Now button or Free 30-Day Trial.
  4. Click Add another company and enter your existing login credentials.
  5. Follow the set up process.

I'll be around if you mean something else.

Hello James.

I think I have the same question.  Can you add another company to your same login through the directions you listed here?   When adding another company, does that require a different EIN to get started?

We are looking to split our company into 3 different companies, and I would like to know if we can do a trial of that through Quickbooks (with 3 different Quickbooks accounts if necessary) before actually creating the companies (with EINs and articles of incorporation, all that mess)

Please let me know what Quickbooks offers in this scenario.

Thanks!

If you keep the same EIN, you can use the Class feature in QBO Plus, with one subscription.  The only consideration is limited liability may not be contained within each company.  It's a question for a CPA or lawyer

Greetings, @HumbleHouse2008.

I’m happy to see you joining in on this thread. Allow me to step in for a moment and share some information about adding another company.

Yes, you can use the trial version for your companies. In QBO, you can only use one EIN (Employer Identification Number) per subscription. If you’re using a different tax identifier for each company, you'll have to add another subscription..

To subscribe, click on this link and move the slider to use the Free trial for 30 days option. Then, choose the appropriate QBO version and click on the Try it free option.

In regard to the login details, you can utilize the same information to access the other company. Here's how:

  1. In your browser, enter this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/.
  2. Choose the QBO version, then select the Try it free option.
  3. On the signup page, select Sign in.
  4. Enter your login information.
  5. On the Signing in window, click on the Yes, that’s correct tab.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to continue using the trial version.

Aside from that, the Switch Company feature allows the user to transfer from one account to the other. Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Under Profile, choose Switch Company.
  3. Then, select the account you want to shift to.

Before the account expires, make sure to enter the billing information to continue using the service. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select  Account and Settings, then choose Billing & Subscription on the left panel.
  3. Click on the Subscribe Now link.
  4. Enter the billing information.
  5. Once done, click on the Subscribe button.

For the desktop version, you don't have to buy another copy of QuickBooks to manage each company's finances. You can create multiple company files that are separate from each other.

For the step by step process, follow the instructions in this article and go directly to the Start a new QuickBooks Desktop company file from scratch section.

To download the trial version, check out this article and select your QuickBooks version: Trial links.

The information I provided should point you in the right direction.

Keep me posted if you have additional questions about QuickBooks. I’ll be around to answer them. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Can you subscribe to different country Quickbooks using the same log in? For example, one company using QBO USA, another company using QBO Germany?

Thanks for joining the discussion, @jp121,

Yes. You can use one email and user ID for all the QuickBooks Online companies you sign up to. When subscribing to a new account for a different country, you are required to enter an email address. If the system detects that it has existing ID, you'll have the option to either use the same access or have you create a different one.

Let me walk you through the steps:

  1. Choose your country here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/
  2. Select a country. (Example: Germany)
  3. Click on Buy now or Free 30-Day Trial.
  4. On the signup page, enter your email address. If you see the "This user ID is already taken" alert, it means an existing account already uses the email.
  5. To use the same login, choose Sign In or Recover Your Account.

That should do it, I'm adding a few articles below for your reference:

Sign in to multiple companies with one user ID

I have set up a new QBW subscription, and now want to change the country after the fact. Is this possible?

Thank you for following this thread, parry03.

Are you trying to change the country of your subscription in QuickBooks? If so, there isn't a way to directly change which country your account is set as within the system.

You'll have to cancel the current account, then subscribe again with the correct country.

Here's how to cancel:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel subscription.
  5. Click Continue to cancel, then click Continue to cancel again.
  6. Follow the online steps, then click Submit and cancel your subscription.
  7. Click Got it

To create a new account:

  1. Open this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/
  2. Choose your country.
  3. Select whether to subscribe now or use a 30-day free trial and the type of subscription you will be using.
  4. Click Add another company, then enter your existing Intuit login credentials.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the account.

Once done, you can now import your customer, suppliers, chart of accounts, and products and services list from the old account. This article will guide you to import them in Export Then Import List Data Into QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about managing your subscription. I'm always around here to lend a hand.
