My invoiced sales are hitting the wrong revenue account (looks like Quickbooks automatically picks where they need to go). How can I change it to correct revenue account?

I'm here to help you with correcting the account, Structure2020.

Let's modify the accounts used in the Product/Service information window so sales income will hit the appropriate account. Please note that the Also update this account in historical transactions box will appear if it's for Non-Inventory or Service Item. However, this option will not show in the Product/Service info for Inventory items.

To modify the income account:

  1. Go to the Sales tab and select Product and Services.
  2. Select Non-Inventory or Service Type and click the Edit link.
  3. Under the Income account drop-down, select the correct income account.
  4. Tick the box Also update this account in historical transactions.
  5. Click Save.

Using the information above, you'll surely have those revenue posted to the correct account.
