Re: My Projects with a future due date do not show up under Sales/Customers/Projects. What am I m...

Hello there, @jerdavcpa.

I can help you open/view your projects with future dates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When viewing your sales transactions, you may click on the arrow beside the Due Date column to locate your projects with future due dates. If the projects aren't showing from there, you can click on the arrow beside Filter and make the necessary customization.

  1. Select a type of transaction/s you want to see/view under Type.
  2. Filter the statuses or select All statuses.
  3. Customize the date under From and To (the date when the transaction/s is created).
  4. You may select a specific project/customer.
  5. Click on Apply.

You can see attached screenshots for additional reference.

For more information about the projects, you can check this article: Set up and use the Projects feature.

Stay posted if you have any other QuickBooks or projects questions, I'm just a post away to help you. Wishing you the best!

Does not solve my issue. Support told me me the links from my QBO data file to the Intuit server are corrupt and I need to pay $1200 for data recovery. That is a hard pill to swallow when one of the main advantages of QBO is supposed to be data security. UPDATE: Turns out not Intuit that contacted me but an outfit called Pro Advisors Help that pretended to be with Intuit.

Allow me to step in, jerdavcpa.

It sounds like that was a scam phone call based on the detailed information you've provided. At Intuit, we are committed to ensuring that there's a privacy in everything you do.

Know that our representative will contact you if you've arranged for a callback and will never ask for a payment. On the other hand, ProAdvisors are typically CPAs, bookkeepers, small business advisors, QuickBooks consultants or accountants who work with small businesses every day. They can offer guidance on accounting related issues.

Regarding your concern, have you tried filtering the information on the Sales Transactions page? As Angelyn_T mentioned, make sure to customize the date from when the transaction is created.

You can also follow these steps and customize the Projects page:

  1. Go to Projects.
  2. Locate the project and click on it to open.
  3. Click on the Gear icon in the Transactions tab.
  4. Choose the Due date checkbox.

I've attached some screenshots below, so you'll know what I'm referring to.1.1.PNG

1.2.PNG

From there, you'll be able to see the future due date of the transaction.

Just in case you need help in tracking income by project, you can refer to this article for future reference: Track income, costs, and profitability by project.

Please let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below. I'm always here to help.

Re: My Projects with a future due date do not show up under Sales/Customers/Projects. What am I m...

I am not having an issue on the Projects screen. My issue is on the Projects tab under Customers. It is telling me to add my first project even though I have already created a project. The existing project does not show up because it has a future due date. If I change the due date to the current month then it shows up on the Projects screen under Customers.

Hello, jerdavcpa,

I appreciate your prompt response.

In line with your concern, for me to able to provide you with the best resolution, could you please provide me with additional information like a screenshot on what you are seeing on your page?

Also, kindly check your setting and make sure that you've selected Accrual for the Accounting method. To check and confirm, here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top, select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced tab,
  3. Go to the Accounting section, then make sure that the Accounting method is Accrual.

For additional information about how Projects feature works in QuickBooks Online, I'm attaching some articles that you can read:

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a good day.

The first page of the attached file shows the project I setup for a customer.

When I change the due date for the same project to a future due date I get page 2.
