Re: Need to track multiple share classes in Quickbooks Online, is capable of doing this? Can QBO ...

Hello, @alex35.

It's nice to have you here on the Community page. I'm glad to share some insights about recording shareholders' contribution in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you're referring to tracking shareholders' contribution by class, then, yes, you can do it in QBO. You can simply turn on the class tracking feature and record the shareholder's deposit.

To turn on and set up your class list, you can check this article for the detailed steps: Get started with class tracking in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can now record a deposit and ensure to select an equity account under the Account column, to track the share by class you can add a class under the Class column.

For more insights and future reference, you can check these articles:

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help!

Well no

In QB you would need shareholder accounts per shareholder (per class of stock), using a class is not going to do it.

And no, QB will not track number of shares per shareholder (as it should)

so you end up with a spreadsheet listing shareholders, qty of shares and amount invested per class of stock.  Then in QB use a summary entry to show the totals for that class of stock
