Does anyone know how to get access to an old account and be able to Export data? Quickbooks told me that I can have access for only 24 hours and got that message at 7pm pacific time... It just doesn't seem right to me. I am needing more time. Is there a way I can pay to access that account for a few months or until I can retrieve all my data? Can anyone help?

If you have subscribed to QuickBooks Online, you can still access your account for a year after the cancellation.

If you were using the trial version, your data will only be available within 90 days after the cancellation. You can use this link for reference: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

 

Please note: You will only have read-only access to the cancelled account and will be unable to work within the account.

If you wish to continue using the company file, make you resubscribe within a year (for previously subscribed) or 90 days (for canceled trial).

Hi Jessica, 

Thank you for replying to my message. I am trying to access an account that I canceled back in 2019. So around 2 years now,. I have a rep help me with this issue but they came back and told me I can access the account for only 24 hours. Well, I never heard back from them until after hours and 24 hours of access just isn't gonna work for us here. 

Do you know if you can reinstate the account at all? your help is greatly appreciated :)

The data in a cancelled account will be deleted automatically after a year it was closed, KaiWLC.

 

Closed accounts need to be reactivated as well before the anniversary of the cancellation to be fully restored.

 

Although, I would recommend reaching out to our chat or phone support team again. They can review the case notes that were logged by the previous agent and check give you updates to this case. 

 

Follow these steps on how to reach out to them:

 

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right hand corner of your QBO account. If you no longer have an active account, user this test drive to access the Help menu: United States: https://qbo.intuit.com/redir/testdrive
  2. Type in "Talk to a human" in the chat box, then press Enter.
  3. Select Get help from a human.
  4. Click Chat with us or Have us call you

Yeah I already went that route, nothing seems to work. Chat with human says your chat will begin in 5 minutes and no one ever shows up. I know the data is not erased because they granted me the access to the account for 24 hours I specified what I needed and I didn't get the email until later in the evening.. The "Engineer" was the one who reached out to the representative that was helping me with this case.

I want to ensure you'll be granted access to your canceled QuickBooks Online account. 

 

Due to the number of users or customers waiting in the line to connect with Support, it may take few minutes to connect with our live agent. As mentioned by JenoP above, closed accounts can only be accessed within a year after the cancellation date. Since the account was canceled way back in 2019, you need assistance with our support to recover your account. 

 

If you don't get a chat agent, you can set a scheduled callback from the next available expert. I'll guide you how.

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either tab to get started:
    • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
    • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose to Get a callback.

 

Our Support Team is available M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT for QBO Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus. And any time or any day for QBO Advanced.
