QBO Accountant - Profit & Loss Comparison is gone

So, apparently QuickBooks changed something YET AGAIN that had no business being changed.

Why can I no longer choose period comparisons? Your "comparison" report is useless. There is nowhere to customize. There is not "dropdown" for the report period, it's simply an information link, no dropdown. The dropdown is for the current period only, not comparison. When you click "Customize" there is nowhere to include a previous period.

So, QuickBooks, where do I find the period comparison reports? Because whatever new "comparison" report you included isn't correct.

QBO Accountant - Profit & Loss Comparison is gone

Thanks for reaching out to us, @Please_Stop_The_Modern_View. Let me share the detailed step-by-step guide on how we can customize the Profit and Loss Comparison report so we can choose which periods to compare.

I understand the confusion regarding the new update for the Profit and Loss Comparison report. Don't worry. The option to enter a custom period comparison is still available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Accountant, and I'm here to show you how:

  1. Go to Reports and search Profit and Loss Comparison report.

  2. Select Custom in the Report period dropdown and enter a specific range.
  3. In the Compare another period dropdown, check the boxes for the Previous period and Custom period. Then, enter the period you want to compare with your current.
  4. When finished, select Run report.

Please refer to this article if you want to save the current customization of your reports: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online. This way, we can have easy access to your frequently used reports and skip the process of customization.

Let me know in the comments below if you have additional concerns about running reports in QBO Accountant. I'd be more than glad to assist you. Keep safe!
