I am setting up ACH payments through our bank. I need to send them a .csv file that shows what I am paying, along with the routing and account numbers for the vendor. The Transaction List by Vendor report gives me the payment information, but I can't figure out how to get the bank information on the same report. I can set up custom fields in the vendor set-up, and though it shows those in the report header, it doesn't pull the data field into the report. Is there a different work-around for this?
Hi @BookkeeperBeth,
Right now, showing the bank information in reports is unavailable for the security purposes of your account. I suggest getting an actual bank statement to compare the transactions and the details within it.
For additional resources, you can see in the following article the list of available reports. It also contains other links that cover basic information about this feature, like how to set up preferences customize and save reports: QuickBooks Reports.

A bank statement doesn't help me - I need to export a report to send to the bank so they can initiate ACH payments to my vendors. I understand security, but I need to send this information to my bank so they can initiate the ACH transfers to the proper accounts.
Is there a way to have a Transaction List by Vendor also include data from custom fields in the vendor set-up?
Thanks for the response, @BookkeeperBeth.
I recommend running two separate reports (Vendor Contact List and Transaction List by Vendor) with some customization and exporting them into Excel to combine them into one. With the Vendor Contact List, you can pull all the information for the Vendor except the Routing Number. When you export to Excel, you then can create a new column for the Routing Number.
You could also add notes to your Vendor to show on Lists. Here's how:

I have already customized the Transaction List by Vendor report to get only the information I need for an ACH payment run, it's just missing the routing and account numbers, even though it let me put those field names (from the vendor custom fields) into the report header. If I also run a Vendor Contact List report, that is going to give me ALL of our vendors and the only way I can see to "combine them into one" is to copy/paste the routing and account number from each vendor that's being paid that week, one at a time, into the Transaction List report, and that would be extremely cumbersome! Is that the only option?
Hello there, BookkeeperBeth.
For now, exporting both vendor reports to Excel is the only option for us to see their bank details with their transactions. I'll send this feedback to our engineers and they might include it to one of our future updates.
We can use other fields on the transaction to enter additional information that can be shown in the Transaction List by Vendor report such as the Memo field.
Feel free to get back to me if you need anything else. Thanks!
