The profits on my dashboard has been stuck on September and I can't get it to change. There's a question mark in the upper right corner instead of being able to change it

I usually have it show the past 30 days but I'm not getting any options to change the dates shown unless I go to the profit and loss page.

Thanks for joining us here in the Community for your profit and loss on the dashboard concern, @tim113.

Clicking the drop-down arrow on the beside the Profit and Loss option should allow you to select the date of the transaction. Since this isn't your case, I recommend accessing your account on a private window and modify it from there.

Web-based platforms like QBO collect cache files (cookies) to save you time when loading repetitive data and images. These files can often become outdated or corrupted, causing issues like the one you've explained.

You can open a Private Window in all supported browsers using the corresponding keyboard shortcut below:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Please see the screenshot attached of how to select your desired period:

If you're now able to change the report period, you can now go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This eliminates unnecessary data and refreshes your data.

Thank you for your reply!

I am having issues using the app on an android phone. I used your advice and cleared the cache of the app, but it still won't work. Any other ideas?

Hello again, @tim113.

Thanks for sharing which device you're using when you've encountered that issue.

Since you're using QuickBooks Online App for Android, the browser troubleshooting method will not be applicable. No worries, I can help you fix this in no time.

Let's start by clearing the Apps's data. There are two ways to do that, here's how:

You can clear it through your QuickBooks Online App:

  1. Tap the three-dotted vertical icon, select Settings.
  2. Tap Refresh Data and confirm by choosing Yes.

In your Device Settings:

  1. Go to Settings, select Apps, and choose QuickBooks App from the list.
  2. Tap Storage, then choose Clear data.

Once done, open the QuickBooks App and check if the dashboard already updates your business' Profit and Loss summary. If not, I'd suggest restarting your device.

However, if the issue still persists, the last remedy is to uninstall and reinstall the app to start fresh.

Hi MarsStephanieL,

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. I tried both ways and it still shows September and in the top right corner, there is a question mark with a circle instead of the drop-down menu. No difference. Weird!

Thanks for getting back in here, @tim113.

I appreciate you following the steps given by my colleagues. Let me provide some information on how to fix this.

You can uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks Online app. This way, you can start fresh and isolate if it's some browsing-related issue. If the issue persists, I suggest logging in to a browser.

Once you sign in to your QuickBooks Online account using a browser and the same thing happens, I recommend reaching out to our customer support team. By doing so, they can do a remote session to check your account and help you fix it.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Choose the Help (?) menu.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a callback from the next available expert.
  6. Fill in the necessary information and click Confirm my call.

Please check our support hours to make sure you're concern will be addressed at your convenient time.

You may consider checking out this article about accessing report in QuickBooks to give you an overview of your business: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

You can always count me in if there's anything else you need. Take care always

Thank you all!

It only seems to be in the app, on my phone. My android tablet pulls everything up fine using a browser. I haven't installed the app onto my Slate. I'm starting to think it is an app issue.
