Unspecified class is incorrect on report

I ran a report that shows sales by Class

 

There is an unspecified Class section with data. However, when I click on one of the transactions that appear as "unspecified" (an invoice), I see that every line on the invoice does, in fact, have a class assigned to it. So why is this invoice showing as unspecified in the report. Please help! Thanks in advance

Hi there, @haskenazi1.

 

I'm here to help ensure that you'll be able to run the Sales by Class report correctly.

 

The transaction/s will reflect under the Unspecified or Not Specified section on the report if transaction/s don't have an assigned class. In addition, line items without a class assigned will show up under Not Specified section. You may need to check each line item on the invoice if there's a class assigned to each.

Thanks however my original post stated

I appreciate you for getting back in the Community. Let me get the help you need in pulling up reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

I have checked this issue here in our system, and we have received no reports from other users getting the same challenges.

 

To further isolate the issue, try to delete and recreate the transaction. Once done, pull up the report again.

 

I'd appreciate if you can update me on how it goes. I'll be on the lookout for your reply and waiting on standby.

I have the same issue going back several years.  And like the original poster, there is a class assigned to the transaction already.

Hello slogan000,

 

You'll want to pull up the Sales by Class Detail report to see the correct class. Let me guide you through how.

  1. Click Report.
  2. Enter "Sales by Class Detail".
  3. Click the Gear icon beside the Export icon.
  4. Mark the Class box.
  5. Click Run report.

If a transaction has multiple items and some have class (some doesn't have), it'll be posted in the Not Specified section of your report. Make sure to assigned a class to an item correctly.
