Upon trying to re-establish my wholesale client's Connect To PayPal thru my QBOA, I get this same error message for 2 weeks now. I deleted prior connection from Bnk Ctr?

Previous connection was Deleted by me thru my QBOA. Deleted all remnant transactions in Account Register, Changed acct name and Inactivated it.  Client has Admin User privileges, and the Acct Password, and gets same error.  Went thru 2 QBO Cust Svce Reps who can't help.

Re: Upon trying to re-establish my wholesale client's Connect To PayPal thru my QBOA, I get this ...

Hello there, @Chance.

Thanks for bringing this matter to my attention. I’m here to help you re-establish the connection between Connect to PayPal and QuickBooks Online.

Before we begin, what specific error message do you and your client receive? Knowing more about the issue will help me conduct further investigations, so I can provide the most accurate resolution.

If the error states that the account you’re trying to link is already connected to QuickBooks, it’s possible that it was deleted or made inactive without being disconnected first.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Accounting and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose the bank from the list and click Edit from the Action drop-down column.
  3. Select the box next to Disconnect this account on save.
  4. Click Save and Close.

See disconnect or delete an account from the downloaded transactions page for more information.

Once done, try setting up the account. If you continue to get the same result, get back to me with additional details and screenshot of the error and I’ll do what I can assist you.

That should do it. Touch base with me here and let me know how it goes, I’m more than happy to help. Take care and have a good one!

In your process, the only thing I did differently was to Disconnect it in the Bank Feed, as opposed to the Chart Of Acct. I went back and re-activated it to follow thru as you suggested, but there is no selection to "disconnect on save" probably because it is already disconnected in Bank Center? I continued to Bank Center to reconnect, and now it is waiting for permission (just like the initial set up), which my client will have to do.

So, my error appears to be that I had erroneously inactivated the account and set up a new one, not knowing there is a "forever more" connection between the original acct & Bank Feed.

Let me chime in, Chance.

Here's another way how to disconnect from Connect to Paypal.

  1. Go to the Banking tab and select Banking
  2. From the drop-down, select the Paypal account/bank.
  3. Click the pencil icon and select Edit settings.
  4. Select Disconnect PayPal.
