When I tried to edit emailed invoices it stated stock templates couldn't not be edited - how do I get around this

Hi swilkerson1. In order to bypass this you need to create a new template. There's actually an awesome article on creating custom email templates that you can check out. I'll also go ahead and list the steps below for you as well:

Switch to Single-User mode

  1. Make sure you're signed in as an Admin user
  2. Select File then Switch to Single-User mode

Create the Template

  1. Navigate to the Edit menu, then select Preferences at the bottom
  2. In the lefthand selection window, click Send Forms
  3. At the top, select Company Preferences
  4. From the Delivery Method Default drop-down menu, select Email
  5. From the Email Templates drop-down menu, select Invoice
  6. Click, Add Template
  7. Name your template
  8. Customize the template
  9. You can select Insert Field to put a dynamic data field in your email. These use real data from the form, like the customer name or due date, to fill out the field.

Tip: You can type these fields into the message body yourself as long as they match the prefilled options.

  10. When you're done customizing, select Save. After you close the template, select OK in the Company Preferences tab to save your changes.

Now that you've finished those steps, if you'd like you can set the template to default by clicking Set to Default. Here's a quick screenshot because it can be easy to glance past the button for this.

This process is the same for all templates you'd like to create in desktop. If you need further assistance, reach out and I'm here.

I am trying to update the phone number that is created in the Email Invoice. It is a very old number. The company information is all correct but the old number still appears in the signature line under the company name. How do I edit this number?

Welcome to the Community, @srager.

I can see that this is a duplicated post and my colleague already provided the steps on how to resolve this. You can view the original post using this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/re-how-to-change-default-em...

You can also customize your invoice template before emailing them.

Let me know if I can be an additional help. Feel free to post if you have additional questions. Have a great day.
