Can i revise a 1099 that I've already submitted via Quickbooks? If so, how? My contractor filled the W9 with his personal info instead of his LLC info. Thanks.

Welcome to the Community, @david149. To make some changes on a 1099 you've already filed whether you use QuickBooks to e-file or mail the forms manually,  you'll need to make amendment and submit the amended forms directly to the IRS.

To do this, print a new paper form to amend 1099. You can order 1099s from us online or over the phone by calling 800-829-3676. Then, follow the steps below:

  1. Fill out the 1099 form.
  2. Select the Corrected checkbox.
  3. Mail the corrected form to the IRS and your contractor.

For future reference, check out this help article: Common questions about 1099s. It has answers to most of the 1099's inquiries.

We're always around here if you need help with anything else about QuickBooks. Feel free to message again.

When submitting corrected 1096 do I need to refile all the 1099 submitted in January  2021 or only the corrected one

And the 1096 total is for the entire submission and not just the corrected 1099

Hello there, Oski.

You'll need to work directly with the IRS for more detailed instructions on how to manually amend your 1099 forms. Once you're able to correct your forms, ensure that you checked the CORRECTED option on the forms and you'll need to provide the corrected returns to the contractor yourself.

You can check out these links that will help you correct your 1099 forms:
