Alphabetical is how they print, same sorting of your vendor or employee lists. Do you want to see your vendor list in the order you added them? Maybe you do.
It wasn't always that way - seems to have started about a month ago - the checks would print just as I entered them. I don't need them in alphabetical order according to vendor. I get lists of checks to write from several individuals and do in one large batch - now once the checks are printed, I have to go through and separate according to the lists. Guess, I'll just have to print each list batch separately.

Thanks for getting back to the Community, jeanl1,
I'm here to provide some information about printing checks in QuickBooks Online.
The orders upon printing check depends on the sorting you’ve set up. There are four sorting options you can select, these are:
To print checks based on your desired output, I'd suggest setting it up based on the above sorting options.
However, if it didn't follow, please let me know. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
Would it make any sense since you are printing batches of checks from several sources to either set up unique bank accounts for each individual/client OR.....
Maybe set up sub accounts of your checking account. Then when creating the checks source them from the different sub accounts to print later. Then when printing you will be printing only from one sub account at a time for only one source of data?
Where is the place to change the sorting option? I see the sorting under Select Bills to be paid but when I go to Print Forms> Checks they are not in alphabetical order. Thank you.
As of the moment, there isn't an option to sort your checks to be printed in alphabetical order on your QuickBooks Desktop. Because the list of your checks to be printed is sorted according to the date of your record.
In the meantime, you'll have to manually select the order of your checks that you want to print. In case you need a reference, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can print your checks: Create, Modify, and Print Checks.
But don't worry, I'll pass along your request to our product developers. This way, they'll know of your need to sort your checks to be printed in alphabetical order.
