I'm glad to see you dropping by here in the Community. Allow me to assist you with the customer balance showing in QuickBooks Online.
If you're referring to the total balance due showing when you print an invoice, please know we have an ongoing issue on this (INV-17518). We've received reports from other users with regards the total amount reflecting at the bottom part when printing them.
Our product engineers are already aware and are working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For now, the workaround available is to use the Statements feature in QuickBooks for the actual balance.
In case this is what you encounter, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support. One of them will need to take over and add you to the list of affected users.
So that if there are updates, you'll be able to get notifications via email. Here's how you can reach them:
Log into your QuickBooks account.
Click the Help option in the upper-right corner.
Click the Contact us hyperlink.
