Why have all COGS sub accounts now referenced only detail type - Equipment Rental regardless of how they were set up?

Example Cost of Labor sub accounts rather than referencing detail type cost of labor (even though show on screen) reference Equipment rental?

Why have all COGS sub accounts now referenced only detail type - Equipment Rental regardless of how they were set up?

Hello @usermichael-lamb,

Thank you for posting here in the Community. Let me help you fix your COGS accounts in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to the detail type showing as Equipment Rental in the chart of account, the browser's stored cache may be full. It can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks Online (QBO), such as different account information.

I'd first recommend logging into your QuickBooks using a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache. Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues.

Use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If it works, let's switch back to the regular browser and clear its cache & historical data. This helps to restore the default setup of the browser.

If you're facing the same problem, use other supported web engine to get the best and most secure experience with the program.

You're always welcome to post any questions you have in this space. I'll be happy to help you some more. Have a good day.
