Why no email confirmation to Vendors when paying them with direct deposit? I get the QB confirmation but the vendor does not get his confirmation.

Why no email confirmation to Vendors when paying them with direct deposit? I get the QB confirmation but the vendor does not get his confirmation.

Great day and welcome to the Community, @clay7

 

One of the reasons why your vendors don't receive an email confirming the direct deposit payment could be the Send confirmation direct deposits to isn't selected in the Vendor Center.

 

Let's make sure to select it. Here's how:

 

  1. Open the Vendor Center in the Vendors menu. 
  2. Choose a vendor, then click the Additional Info tab and select the Direct Deposit button.
  3. Select the Send confirmation direct deposits to the email address entered in QuickBooks.
  4. You can also add or update the email address by selecting the Address Info tab if it's blank or if it's incorrect. 

 

Once done,  the system will automatically send an email to the email address on file two days before payment will arrive in the vendor's bank account.

The email might be tagged as spam. This is why your vendor isn't receiving the QuickBooks confirmation.

 

You can let them check their email folders by following the steps below.

  1. Check the Spam or Junk folder.
  2. If they've found the email there, move it to their inbox.

No I checked that. None of the vendor payments are going through. They aren't even showing up in my sent items folder like the employee confirmations. It's like it not set up. 

 

When I do the payment it doesn't give me an option to email like the employee direct deposit.

To further assist you in resolving this error, I suggest reaching out to our Product Support team. They have the tools that pull up your account in a secure environment and help you check using one of their tools like screen sharing.

 

Here's how to reach them: 

 

  1. From your QuickBooks account, click the Help menu at the top. 
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help. On the Have a Question? window that appears, click the Contact Us button at the bottom part of the page. 
  3. Provide some insight about your concern in the Tell us more about your question Then, hit the Search button. 
  4. You'll now be provided a few support options. 
  5. Select Talk to a Specialist to arrange a callback from a support agent. Or Message an Agent to chat with them directly.
