report of one customer type

I am looking to generate  a contact info report of a select few customers. I have assigned them a customer type but the filter does not seem to be working.

report of one customer type

Hello there, newyorktutor.

I can help you generate the customer report you need.

It can be that you're experiencing a browser-related issue that's why you're unable to run the customized report. We can verify if this is the cause by logging in to QuickBooks online using a private browser. This type of browser doesn't store cache files or browsing history. Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Then, you can follow these steps on how to run the customer contact list report with the client type.

  1. Click Reports from the left menu.
  2. In the search field, you can enter and select Customer Contact List.
  3. At the upper-right, click Customize.
  4. Under Rows/Columns, click Change columns.
  5. Look for Client Type and select it.
  6. Click Run report to refresh.

If you're able to see the client type column as expected, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. If the issue persists, you can try using other supported browsers.

You can click the Customize reports in QuickBooks Online article if you want to add or remove filters or columns on your reports.

Keep me posted on how this works and if you're getting a specific error when pulling up the report. I'll be here to help. Take care!

report of one customer type

Hi Catherine

It worked but after some fiddling. It turns out QBO applied the one CUSTOMER TYPE [or somehow I did something wrong] to ALL customers. That's why nothing was filtered out in the reports. All better now. Thanks for your help.
