Report on Past Closing Dates

Is it possible to run a transaction report to show past closing dates?   It would appear that our closing may or may not have been done for awhile. I am trying to find out the last time it was closed.

Re: Report on Past Closing Dates

Great to see you today, @CSMG,

Welcome to our forum. I can share some insights on how to generate your closing date history in QuickBooks.

We can pull up a Closing Date Exception Report so you can view current and past closing dates, alongside with the user who set the closing date. This report also displays all transactions that were changed or entered on or before the closing date.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Choose Accountant & Taxes.
  3. Select Closing Data Exception Report.

You can view the history in the Closing Date History section of the report. Here's a great article I've attached for your reference with closing books in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I'm always around to assist you. Have a good day!
