Reporting on open estimates

I want to run a report that shows open items on an estimate.  Currently, the reports I run do not eliminate the portions of the open estimates that have previously been converted to a sales order so the total "open" estimates is significantly overstated.

Reporting on open estimates

Welcome to the Community@BCRINC. I'd be happy to share some details about running a report about open items of estimates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Currently, showing the open items of the estimates that aren't linked to any sales order is unavailable. I'd suggest modifying it using an Excel file. You can also browse some reports from the Report Center to get some specific customization that is ideal for your needs and modify it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Report Center.
  3. Search for Estimates or Open items for Estimates.
  4. Click on the arrow-right button to open the report.
  5. Export and modify it with other reports.

To know more details on how to modify your reports, you can check out this article: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

I'd also suggest submitting feedback directly to our product engineers. This way, they can look into this option further and consider adding the report in the future update.

To send feedback, you can go to the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out to the Community if you need more assistance running reports. I'd be glad to assist you. Take care!
