Running reports for monthly sales.  When generating the report for the entire sales team, credit memos are correctly reducing sales.  However, when running the same report for individual sales reps, credit memos are not reducing sales.  Using QB Desktop Pro 2018 and on accrual basis.

Thanks for dropping by, @JeffSelsor.

Let's make sure that we added the Sales Reps to the credit memo. This way, we can see that credit memos are reducing sales when running detailed reports.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Customers menu and then select Customer Center.
  2. Choose the Transactions tab.
  3. Select Credit Memos and then double-click the credit transaction.
  4. Check if the Sales Rep selection is available.

If you missed the Sales Rep selection field, let's make it appear by customizing the Credit Memo template. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. On the Credit Memo window, go to the Formatting tab.
  2. Select Customize Data Layout.
  3. Check the REP box and then edit the Title.
  4. Click OK.

Once done, you can now pull up a report that will show the Sales Rep to the credit memo. This way, credit memos will reduce sales for each Sales Rep. Just go to the Reports menu and then select Sales, then choose Sales by Rep Detail report.

You can also check out this article about different reports in QuickBooks Desktop: Customize customer, job, and sales reports in QuickBooks Desktop. It also provides details on how to create specific custom reports such as sales orders and payments.
