Request to Create Custom Graphs in QB-Online

Hi there, Steve.

There's a graphical comparison of your income and expenses in your Dashboard. However, there's no option to show the data month by month for the last 5 fiscal years. You can only select between This fiscal year or Last fiscal year.

 You might also want to open the Business Snapshot report. Here's how:

1. Go to the Reports menu and select Business Snapshot under Business Overview.
2. Scroll down to the Previous Year Income Comparison and Previous Year Expense Comparison section.
3. Click the drop-down list for period and select Monthly for both.

In addition, you can run a Profit and Loss Comparison report to get the data for the past 5 years. Then, export it to Excel and create a graphic bar using the information from the report. 

To open your Profit and Loss, please follow these steps:

1. Look for Profit and Loss under the Reports menu.
2. Change the date to the right Fiscal Year in the Report Period section. 
3. Click the drop-down arrow for Display columns by and select Month.

You can also click the drop-down arrow for Compare another period and check Previous Period. Although, this will only give you the date for the current and previous period.

Thanks for joining in on this thread. At this time, there isn't an option for the Business Snapshot report in QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can export a report to Excel.

Here's how: 

1. Go to the Reports menu. 
2. Locate and run the report. 
3. Once you're on the report's screen. 
4. Click the Excel drop-down. 
5. Pick the Create new worksheet.
