Are you using QB Desktop? Just create a new company file. 

I am wondering the same thing. We have QB online and it got away from us. We haven't been entering a lot of things and haven't reconciled in a couple years. Can I just start fresh?

Congrats on making your first post here in the Community. 

There isn't a way to reset your entire account due to mistakes made at this time. I'll send feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider this in one of the new releases for the product. They take the time to review each request and tie them all together for the next update available. 

However, you can create a new company file from an existing one from the File menu. This will save your lists and company info but no transactions. Here's how: 

1. Go to the File menu. 
2. Pick the New Company from Existing Company File... option. 

       3. Choose a company to copy from. 

       4. Name the new company. 

       5. Press Create Company.

Although you're unable to reset your company file, these steps of creating a new file from an existing one should do the trick. Don't sweat it! I value you and the success of your business. I'll always be around to help. Bye for now!

If your books are less than 60 days old, you can purge your account. These next steps are only for QuickBooks Essentials, Plus, and Advanced users. If you use QuickBooks Simple Start, you should cancel and start a new company instead.

If you delete your company data, it won't cancel your QuickBooks or payroll subscriptions. However, you will have to reenter any employee or historical info you want to keep. This process completely clears out your books.

Be careful. Before you start, be absolutely sure you want to delete everything.

Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin
Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text after the last / and enter purgecompany.
For example:
Before: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage
After: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
Select Wipe data.

Once the process is finished, you can start your books from scratch.
