If QuickBooks won't accept your password when you use email services like Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, we can update QuickBooks Desktop to see if fixes the issue. Then, email a test transaction to yourself.

 

If you still get error messages, let's review your setting and filter preferences. These may be blocking your emails from QuickBooks on accident.

 

You can follow the steps below if you're using Gmail: 

 

  1. Review your app preferences and follow the steps to enable access for less secure apps or  set access preferences for specific apps, like QuickBooks.
  2. Once done, go back to QuickBooks and email yourself a test transaction.
  3. You can also turn off the 2-Step Verification feature for your Gmail account, if you still can't email  invoices.

If you're using Yahoo! Mail, follow these steps instead:

 

  1. Let's review your security settings by going to your Yahoo Account Security page.
  2. Turn on the Allow apps that use less secure sign in and Two-step verification features.
  3. Once done, go back to QuickBooks and email yourself a test transaction.

 

If you still can't email  invoices, use the Yahoo's generate third-party app passwords tool. This will create a random password you can use to connect QuickBooks. Then, email yourself a test transaction in QuickBooks. In the Password field box, enter the third-party app password. Then select OK.

 

If your using other email services, you can check your security and filter settings, then make exceptions or rules so QuickBooks isn't blocked.

 

When you're done with all these steps, let's check your antivirus settings. Your antivirus software may accidentally block the connection. You can go the step 3 of this article: Fix webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

My email is not working though QB, also my QB is not working throught Chrome. How to fix this?

To clarify, are you using QuickBooks Online? Also, are you using your personal or business Gmail address to send invoices?

 

For most general issues in QBO, clearing the browser's cache can do the trick. Browser caches help speed up basic browsing that allows you to save more time when loading repetitive images or information. However, it can impact processes and cause this unexpected behavior when your browser accumulates too much historical data. Not to worry, you can clear them in just a few easy steps.

 

In the meantime, we can start by accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

 

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

 

If it's responsive, I recommend that you clear it's cache. By clearing the browser's cache, you can remove that historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate.

I use outlook and I am unable to send a invoice or statement through quickbooks.  I just upgraded my 2019 to 2022 and still won't work.

I'll make sure that you'll be notified once the issue is fixed, hg453.

 

This is a known issue, and our product engineers are working hard to get this fixed. 

 

I recommend giving our Customer Care Team a call to add your account details on the affected user's lists. This way, you'll be updated once a resolution is available.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter "Send invoice email", select Let's talk and then choose a way to connect.

 

In the meantime, you can set up and use webmail in sending your emails in QuickBooks as a workaround, here's how:

 

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Edit menu and click Preferences.
  2. Choose to Send Forms.
  3. Under the My Preferences section, select Web Mail.
  4. Enter your email address and select your provider from the Email Provider drop-down.
  5. Select the Use Enhanced Security checkbox and select OK.
  6. When prompted, sign in to your Intuit account.
