Setting up QB Online for nonprofits and nonprofit reports

I am setting up my nonprofit in QB online Plus.  I have selected Tax Type as Form 990 and donors for "customers".  Still I am getting corporate reports for balance sheet and profit and loss statements.  What do I do to get statements for non profits like Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities and Changes in Net Assets?Statement of Cash Flows?  It's as if the selection of Non Profit Organization (Form 990) under Company Type made no difference.  I've been on phone and screen sharing for an hour and QB couldn't figure it out either.

Setting up QB Online for nonprofits and nonprofit reports

Let's perform some steps to help fix the issue, Sallie Ford.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources that cause some unusual responses. To isolate this, try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window (incognito). Here's are the shortcuts:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox).
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, you can try to check if you're able to access and view reports for non-profit. If so, return to your default browser then clear the cache to speed up the loading process. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

You'll also want to contact our support team again to investigate further. Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a channel where you want to connect with our specialists.

I've included these help articles in case you have further questions about QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in and keep in touch if you have any questions about reports. Don't forget, I'll always be right here to help.

Thank you for your help. I did these suggested steps and still had the corporate setup and reports. Then, I got the idea to change the tax from to 1120, save, and THEN change it back to 990. That worked. I’m now in the QB setup for nonprofits. I appreciate your response and the customer service rep who worked with me.
