Since recent update, when I send an estimate it now is plain text and customers do not have the option to accept or deny the estimate.

I have tried different settings under Account & Settings>Sales>Online Delivery, with no change.

Hello there, @DCSMidMo. I'm here to provide some insights about the estimate so that the option to accept or deny will display on your customer's end.

The customers should be able to review and approve the estimate online, regardless of the online delivery option you’ve set, whether it’s plain text, HTML, or an online invoice.

To ensure that the Review and Approve option appears for customers, make sure you're using the Modern template, as this feature is exclusive to that template.

Here's how:

1. Access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and navigate to +New.

2. Under Customers, select Estimate.

3. Click the dropdown arrow to Add a customer.

4. Enter the necessary information under Products and Services.

5. Ensure that the Modern template is set under Manage, then Design, and choose Modern.

6. Enter the email where you want to send the estimate, click on Edit customer, enter the email, and then Save.

7. Click Review and Send, then Send Estimate.

Hi @ErwinQ

Thank you for the response, could you please provide some additional information as to where I can set "modern template"? I can't seem to locate Manage on my screen

How did this change, because as of April 16th when I sent an estimate, my customers were able to approve, and now they are not?

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread and adding clarification about your concern regarding sending an estimate, MidMoGuy. Let me provide extra details about the new estimate interface and ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further on this matter.

Please note that the steps outlined by my colleague are only applicable if you're using the new estimate or updated interface. Based on the screenshot you provided, you're still in the Old one, which is why you can't manage to find the Modern template using the instructions above.

However, you can click this article to see the steps on how you can utilize the Modern template using the old layout: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

On the other hand, the issue regarding a customer being unable to see the Review and Approve option has recently been tagged as an ongoing case. Our product engineers are now working to fix this as soon as possible.

I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. This is to ensure you'll be added to the list of affected users and rest assured you'll receive updates through email once the issue is resolved.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Help (?) icon.
  3. On the Assistant tab, enter Talk to a human.
  4. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  5. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  6. Choose how you'll want to get in touch with the support.
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

In case you need steps on how you can view the status of all your sales entries like estimates, you can read this article: View sales transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you have any additional questions about managing estimates in QBO. I'll be right here to help you further, DCSMidMo. Have a good one.
