Join nowWhich letter code (A, B, C or D) do I use in tax line mapping for form 8825? And how do I discern which letter to use moving forward?
Thanks!
Not sure what you are asking. Form 8825, rents, is mapped to form 1065 or 1120 partnership returns. The ABCD is for up to 4 properties on a single form. If you only have 1 deeded property you only use column A. Each property by deed must be its own column but for all columns the mapping to 1120 or 1065 is to same tax line, hence combining all properties and all 8825 income and expense into a single income total and a single expense total. Depreciation is recorded on an M-1 sheet and then mapped to 1120
What if I have 7 properties, can I create a E F G...? In the actual Tax Line Mapping.
I have 7 properties, how can I add to Tax Map E,F,G?
The tax pro files the 8825 and 2 total, but gets confused as I can not separate easier by having the extra tax map lines.

To properly identify if you should create an E F G for your 7 properties, I'd recommend working with an accounting professional. My client has more than 4 properties. In the Tax mapping, you only have A-D. How do you add additional properties like E, F G, Etc in QuickBooks. I am using QuickBooks Accountant desktop 2021
Thank you
Rents form 8825 is matched to partnership return forms 1065 or 1120. The ABCD can be used for up to four properties in a single form. The option to edit the selections under the Tax-Line Mapping tax line mapping isn't supported in QuickBooks Desktop. In the meantime, it would be great to share your suggestions and feedback regarding this option with our product developer. Here's how you can provide feedback:
I also suggest consulting your accountant to ensure you select the correct tax line mapping in an account. If you don't have one, you may use our Find an Accountant tool.
