The <servicedate> field is no longer mapping to my custom invoice template. Tried troubleshooting,

Good day, @SignEnhancers.

Let me share some insight into why the service date is not mapping. If the settings "Collapse activity rows" are active, the Service Date will now show on forms. Let's customize the template and turn on the Collapse activity rows setting. This can be done by doing the following:

  1. Click the Gear Icon.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles.
  3. Edit the Standard template (Or any existing template).
  4. Select Content Tab.
  5. Click Show more activity options.
  6. Check the Collapse activity rows box.
  7. Click Done to apply the changes.

Then, you'll need to make sure that the customized invoice was checked upon creating the invoice.

To do that:

  1. Open the invoice that you've created.
  2. Click on the Customize button at the bottom.
  3. Select the Customized Template that you wanted to use.
  4. Make sure to enter the Service Date in the invoice.
  5. Click Send and Save.

For more info about designing your custom form style, check out the articles below. This includes additional instructions on how to fix if you get any errors when importing templates:

Also, please note that we will be retiring custom import styles in the coming months. However, we still have some great templates you can make use of when customizing your invoice. You can also look for third-party apps and integrate them with your QuickBooks to create an invoice template.

The <servicedate> field is no longer mapping to my custom invoice template. Tried troubleshooting,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, it didn't resolve the issue. Collapse Activity Rows was not selected in our standard form, so dates should be showing. The invoice I'm having problems with is the uploaded custom template, so there's no option to edit that one, only to reload it. I've reviewed the trouble-shooting docs, and gallery of terms that it says will successfully map, with no success.

Our business has two distinct lines requiring distinct information on invoices. I'd love to be able to use only the QB editable forms, but there is no flexibility there to incorporate differing form entries and columns. The limitation has been frustrating to date, but now to find that the ONE, albeit clunky, work-around will be disappearing, and right after our monthly bill increased, is even worse!

What is QBO doing to allow for flexibility of forms, since they're getting rid of the current solution?

Hi SignEnhancers,

I see how useful your uploaded form is. Currently, you can use form styles available for you in QuickBooks Online. You may create a new invoice template to replace your uploaded form that has a column for service dates.

On the other hand, we haven't received any further announcements regarding the option to upload forms other than it being decommissioned. Feel free to submit feedback from your QBO company about it, so our engineers will know how important it is to you.

If you have other concerns about forms, feel free to comment below. We're just right here to assist you.
